Available to both insured and uninsured patients, YouHealth has the capacity to run 3,000 tests per day through its lab partners (more capacity expected soon through partnerships with additional labs) on 4 Thermo Fisher hospital-grade machines currently which received FDA emergency use authorization. Turnaround time is 24 hours after the lab receives your sample, which you will mail back using your nearest FedEx. Staying at home and continuing to practice "social distancing" will prevent you from spreading the disease to others as well as getting infected yourself. See the most common symptoms of Coronavirus as seen from patients in China here.

After ordering a test kit, you will complete a survey detailing your symptoms for a YouHealth telehealth physician to review and authorize the test itself (alternatively, a physician can authorize the test after seeing you over a telemedicine visit if your symptoms seem likely to be caused by Covid-19). If you are approved for a test kit, you will be mailed a kit immediately and if you are not experiencing clinically relevant symptoms, you will be refunded immediately so that kits can be reserved for patients most at need.

Instructions are included in the test kit on how to collect your specimen and mail it directly to a federally certified lab. A video from the New England Journal of Medicine on how to collect nasopharyngeal specimen is very helpful: How To Video.

If you test positive, you will receive a phone call from an infectious disease specialist with clinical guidance on next-steps depending on your age and any pre-existing medical conditions.

Stay well, remain calm and continue to practice "social distancing."
